Yankee Air Museum’s Director of Development, Elisa Guyton, appeared recently on WLBY Radio’s Lucy Ann Lance Show. Elisa spoke with Lucy Ann about the Museum’s mission and activities.
In Elisa’s own words…
The Yankee Air Museum dedicates itself to educating individuals through the history of US military aviation, technology, and home-front efforts while inspiring generations through personal experiences to instill pride in our national accomplishments.
I am Elisa Guyton, Associate Director of Development for Yankee Air Museum.
The Yankee Air Museum opened its doors in 1981 and has been an active part in the Southeast Michigan cultural community ever since. The Museum operates three historic World War II era aircraft (B-17, B-25, and C-47) to provide unique experiences to the public and help raise awareness of the significant contributions of the United States to the World War II cause.
The Yankee Air Museum, in conjunction with the Ann Arbor Hands-On Museum and the Leslie Science and Nature Center, recently launched the “Unity in Learning” initiative that has doubled the capacity of our current outreach programs to inner city youth.
