The Yankee Air Museums biannual publication, Approaches magazine, is hot off the presses, and this is the biggest issue yet! Approaches spotlights new exhibits and initiatives of the Yankee Air Museum, and follows the progress of the Campaign to save, preserve and renovate the historic Willow Run Bomber Plant to become the Museum’s future new home. And, each issue features articles on historical and technological topics related to the Museum’s mission and exhibits.
The Summer 2017 Issue of Approaches follows the excitement of Thunder Over Michigan Air Show trough the years with colorful photos of many of the aircraft and performers Thunder has hosted. Also featured is the Unity in Learning partnership among the Yankee Air Museum, the Ann Arbor Hands-On Museum, and the Leslie sScience Center to bring STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) learning experiences to kids.
Also highlighted is the Museum’s exciting EC-121 Warning Star rescue project, with photos of the famous cold war icon being dismantled and transported from Rantoul, IL to the Yankee Air Museum in Michigan. And of course, it’s time to thank our wonderful supporters of the Campaign to Save the Willow Run Bomber Plant with an updated listing of our donors.
Approaches is mailed free of charge to Yankee Air Museum members, and to donors to our Save The Bomber Plant Campaign.
