Double Your Donation’s Impact! MCACA $90,000 Grant Challenge

We are pleased to announce that the Michigan Council for the Arts and Cultural Affairs (MCACA) has approved a major grant to our Foundation. Your donations, up to $90,000, to our Save the Bomber Plant Campaign through June 30, 2018 will be matched by MCACA challenge grant funding.

Donating now will ensure that we receive the grant’s maximum value, and it’s a really easy way to double the value of your contribution!

The Michigan Council for the Arts and Cultural Affairs grant recognizes the Yankee Air Museum as one of the state’s cultural assets and it’s role in enhancing the quality of life for Michigan’s citizens and the state’s vital economy.

The MCACA grant is intended to cover the cost of adding a heating and cooling system to the Preservation and Events portion of the historic building. The challenge grant funding, capped at $90,000, must be matched against cash donations or in-kind donations of new materials suitable for our museum building project.

There has never been a better time to make a cash or in-kind materials donation to this campaign!

Thanks to your donations to our Save the Bomber Plant Campaign, we have been able to make significant progress on building the new home for the Yankee Air Museum, from creating a sound building structure to the current work of completing critical utilities connections.

However, we need your help more than ever—especially since we can double the impact of your donation through June 30, 2018!

The new home of the Yankee Air Museum will be in the historic Willow Run “B-24 Liberator” Bomber Plant, west of Detroit where the original “Rosie” did her riveting during WWII. And its state-of-the-art assembly line at peak production produced an astonishing bomber-every-hour!

The new building will allow the Yankee Air Museum to expand it’s current collections and offer exciting, new exhibits that will honor the home front heroes who built the planes, tanks, jeeps and other materiel that made victory in WWII possible. The Museum will also introduce visitors to the science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) disciplines that fuel our economy. And, as befits the Willow Run location, the Museum will have a special focus on manufacturing innovation.

There is much work to be done, in order to truly Save the Bomber Plant and transform it into a Museum. We need your generous and continuing support as we work to restore this fascinating piece of local, regional, and national history!

Remember, your gift is tax deductible as provided by law, and now thanks to MCACA, you can double the impact your donation!

Thanks for your generous support!
